Clay Magic is a brand of the Auto Wax Company based in Dallas, Texas. This company was founded in 1960 and still owned by the same family.

Brothers Research Corp. was founded in 1975 by Dr. William Bailey and his brother, Jerry to begin marketing a new automotive appearance product.

Because of their dissatisfaction with the products being offered at the time, these two car enthusiasts (and chemists) began in 1973 formulating their own automotive polish. The only products available then were difficult to use, left a heavy chalk residue, were not very durable, and gave only moderate results in shine.

After two years research and approximately one hundred trial formulations, all the above discrepencies were overcome. This revolutionary polish went on easily as a semi-transparent film, was just as easily removed, and created a brilliant, durable gloss that would last up to a year.

The response was so overwhelming that Brothers Research was formed to market this new offering called "Duragloss".

Einszett (pronounced Inz-sedt), was created by Werner Sauer Sr., who had a passionate belief that there could be a better product to maintain and enhance the appearance of the automobile. Mr. Sauer introduced in 1936, in the city of Köln, Germany, the first einszett paintwork polish and wax. Mr. Sauer stood apart from his competitors based on one simple philosophy that remains until this day as the cornerstone of einszett: produce a premium quality formula using the finest ingredients to produce the best results. Mr. Sauer named his successful formula einszett (translated as "1Z") based on the number-letter designation assigned to license plates registered in Köln.

CCS Technology revolutionizes foam buffing pads.

Lake Country Manufacturing unveiled CCS technology in late 2006 and the industry has been talking about them ever since. This new foam pad design eliminates some of the common problems of conventional foam pads to provide you with a safer, more user-friendly buffing pad.

Lake Country has improved upon the basic pad design with CCS technology, which actually slows the rate of product absorption and saves polish. With conventional foam pads, polish is absorbed into the foam rather quickly, this reduces the working time with the polish and build-up of chemicals inside the foam will also cause the pad to dry out more rapidly.

CCS stands for Collapsed Cell Structure. The face of a CCS pad is covered in strategically placed pockets. These pockets are locations where the foam cells have been closed. Polish does not absorb into these closed cell pockets, leaving more product on the pad's surface and on the paint. This polish-saving design gives polishes a longer working time, which results in more successful detailing.

Lake Country’s Kompressor Pads are designed to hug the paint, conforming to the car’s every curve. With an old-fashioned flat pad, you lose surface contact on curved panels because the pad is unable to adjust to the curves of the vehicle. Because so much of the pad is coming off the paint, you’re more likely to sling polish. Kompressor foam pads keep the foam against the paint, which keeps the polish (or wax) on the pad.

Kompressor pads have the following features that you won’t find on other pads:

Slotted Pad Face. The series of foam tabs allow the Kompressor pad to constantly conform to the shape of your vehicle as you move the polisher along the paint. This variation in the pad face allows the Kompressor pad to maintain contact with the paint over curved and concave body panels. With more foam and polish in contact with paint at all times, you get faster results.

Compressed sweet spot. Kompressor pads get their name from the sweet spot of compressed foam in the center of each pad. The pads are designed to arch. When you press the center of the pad against the backing plate, the center foam compresses, creating the sweet spot. Polish tends to stay in the middle of the pad. The sweet spot reduces sling and holds onto the polish longer.

The Kompressor pads are arched. When you press the pad to the backing plate, the center foam compresses to form a "sweet spot".

The compressed sweet spot also extends the pads’ lift by reducing foam breakdown. When the pad compresses, the foam is pushed together to create a dense surface. The foam tabs still have enough movement to conform to the vehicle, but the density of this compressed foam protects the pad against unnecessary wear.

Recessed back. Each Kompressor foam pad has a recessed back. You can perfectly center the backing plate every time! The lip of foam around the recessed area helps protect the paint against accidental contact with the backing plate. Kompressor pads have hook and loop fasteners to hold the backing plate securely in place. Remember to press the center of the pad against the backing plate to create the sweet spot.
