Wheels can be the hardest area on your car to clean and maintain. Every car enthusiast knows that when your rims look dirty, it lets down the whole appearance of your car.  But let’s face it, cleaning your car rims isn’t something most of us look forward to. It is a time-consuming, messy job that requires us to be on our hands and knees at times. Even then, it seems that all the hard work we put into cleaning them still doesn’t get all that road grime off and worst still, they’ll be just as dirty after a day or two of driving.

What if there was a better way to quickly clean and protect your wheels like never before?

With the introduction of highly effective wheel cleaning products such as Concours Purge, it’s really never been so simple to safely and easily clean your wheels. Products like this have been specifically formulated to target brake dust and road grime, yet is gentle enough to not harm the rims’ surface or coating.

Application is as simple as spraying the wheel cleaner onto your rims. You will immediately notice the cleaner working as they begin to dissolve the brake dust and road grime in a purple-coloured reaction - This indicates that iron fallout is present, and is reacting. After a few minutes of allowing the wheel cleaner to sit and dwell on the rims, rinse them down using a pressure washer or the strongest water beam on your hose.

If this is your first time to use a quality wheel cleaner, or the rims are overly dirty and haven’t been cleaned for some time, the use of some wheel cleaning brushes such as wheel woolies and smaller wheel and nut brushes may be needed to remove some of the more stubborn grime. In this situation, give the rims another quick spray with your wheel cleaner and then use the brushes to loosen and remove those stubborn dirt and grime.

Although a wheel cleaner such as Concours Purge is highly effective in cleaning your rims, protecting them with will help ease the daily abuse they go through - and make them easier to clean.

A ceramic coating such as CarPro Dlux or Nova Wheel are some great options for protection, however they can be time consuming and involve a lot of prep. Spray coatings such as Concours PYRO, CarPro Reload or Polishangel Supersport are really quick ways to effortlessly protect your wheels for months, not weeks!

The truth is that the waxes and sealants we sometimes apply to our car paint and rims are no match for the abuse, extreme heat and road grime that attacks our wheels each and everyday. Wheel coatings such as Concours Pyro have the ability to take far more abuse with their extreme heat resistance, hardened surface and long lasting durability. The greatest thing you’ll notice once it has been applied to your rims is the ease of cleaning it provides. Now you have to find other ways besides cleaning your rims to spend your time!

As far as application goes, Concours Pyro and other spray coatings are very easy to apply - using a spray-on-and-wipe-off method. It can also be applied even if the rims are still a little wet. You can either spray it directly onto the wheel surface, or use an applicator pad to wipe it all over the rim then wipe off with a microfibre cloth. It doesn’t get any easier than that!
