Buffing Pads
Polishing pads for cars – carefully manufactured for the best results
On the market today, you’ll find plenty of types of buffing pads – from the hugely popular variants across foam, through to wool, hybrid, microfibre, velvet, and denim. Because of all these options, choosing the right one for your pain correction project can become a challenge. Waxit carries a huge range all designed to deliver solutions towards cutting, refining and finishing.
How to choose car polishing pads
All of the buffing pads available today have their own benefits and specifications. Additionally, many are designed to cater to specific stages of the process. While some of them can be used to apply the solution, others are more fitted for use with waxes or sealants, all of which can then help you keep your car looking brand-new.
Within our collection, you’ll find a number of compounds & polishes available online, all at affordable prices.
Foam
One of the original materials and still one of the best. The little pockets inside the foam act as reservoirs which allow for slow release and even, controlled results.
Wool
Wool is a great material for paint correction and the application of compounds because it offers a more aggressive and consistent cut. One of the products we stock is the new Rupes premium wool cutting pad which has a high-density pile of fibres with an ultra-high cutting ability.
Hybrid
By combining different elements in engineered pads, you can achieve quality results in a rapid time. They work by combining small cells with robust construction to keep the abrasives in the pad closer to the surface.
Microfibre
These are a relatively new technology, but are rapidly becoming a product of choice for
compounding and polishing. They have greater surface area because of the microscopic fibres which means you can achieve a finished result in up to a third of the time.
Velvet
When the surface of your car becomes patchy and uneven (otherwise known as the ‘Orange Peel’ effect), velvet buffing pads are your best friend. As a hard-working tool, they skin the surface of your paint job and restore it to a smoother finish. It has the same grit as sandpaper, but will do the job much more quickly but won’t leave the hazing effect that sandpaper will.
Denim
Another effective pad for the removal of Orange Peel, the denim surface will gently buff the paint and remove the effects without dulling or fading the paint.
How to clean your buffer pads
These products don’t have to be disposable. We also stock cleaning brushes and solutions to remove the residual polish and compounding materials that can become stuck in your buffing pads. These will get right into the pores and restore it to a new condition so you can use it again and again.
