Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner

What are rim cleaners?

Car wheels are easily the dirtiest and most environmentally punished part of a car, so rim cleaners are specifically formulated chemicals used to help safely and effectively remove environmental dirt and grime from the surface of your wheel's rims.

At Waxit Car Care, all of our alloy wheel cleaners have been carefully selected to ensure your car is being treated with products that are of the highest quality. Using a high-quality rim cleaner is important because it allows you to remove grime without damaging your rims in the process. Quality rim cleaners make the difficult, time-consuming wheel cleaning process faster, easier and safer.

Why is it important to clean wheel rims?

Allowing wheel rims to go uncleaned for long periods of time can result in permanent damage of infused grime in your rim. It can also cause rust to develop and build up from brake metal particles leading to corrosion on the rim. This build-up of contamination on your wheel can leave it looking tired, old and damaged.

Benefits of rim cleaners:

  1. Alloy wheel cleaners will help you safely and effectively clean your rims
  2. They are super easy to use and cut the time it takes to clean your rims considerably
  3. They specifically target and dissolve brake dust particles
  4. They also help remove traffic film contaminants & built-up grease

How to use:

  1. Before using a rim cleaner, always test it first on your wheel by applying it to a small, inconspicuous area. This will ensure that the chemicals aren't too harsh for your particular rim and will prevent damage from occurring.
  2. Make sure your rims are not in direct sunlight and are a cool temperature.
  3. Spray the wheel cleaner directly on to the rim.
  4. Let the chemical react for a minute or so (don't wait longer than this to prevent damage).
  5. Rinse the rims thoroughly with a pressure washer or hose
  6. For more stubborn grime, some rims may require the use of a wheel cleaning brush as well.

Tip:
For the best long term results, give your rims a regular, light cleaning with one of our alloy wheel cleaners in combination with a protective sealant or coating.
