When it comes to tyre shines & gels, the main factor that indicates which one is best is really personal preference. Although tyre shines, sprays & gels can all be on the glossier side, or more matte - sprays tend to favour more gloss/shine, and gels typically produce a more satin, or matte finish. On the other hand, products with a more liquid & gel like consistency tend to be more concentrated, and they will typically last more - however spray like products are easier to use, and faster. Whatever your preference, we have a variety of products available. If you are unsure about what product best suits you, feel free to get in touch with us!

Usually, no. Tyre shines really want to bond to the rubber, and don’t need any water interfering with this or diluting down the product. Even with water based, or even diluted down tyre dressings - to ensure consistent and optimal results it's best to apply the product on tyres with little to no water. If you are wanting to dilute down your tyre shine/dressing as per the product directions to alter the finish, then do this in say a spray bottle before application.

Yes, our tyre shine products are safe to use on all different tyres of tyres. These products are perfectly safe, and not only enhance the finish of your tyres, but actually provide protection against fading, cracking and other issues. Some of these dressings also help to repel water & contaminants, which can keep your tyres cleaner for longer, and easier to maintain & wash.

Some tyre shine products can definitely be used on external plastics and trims. A great example of this is CarPro PERL, which can be diluted down to perform a variety of different detailing tasks. Some dressings however are made specifically to bond and adhere to the rubber surface, and don’t typically do well on plastics, bumpers or other surfaces. We recommend following the product's directions, and if you are after a product that can be versatile, and not sure what to choose, just get in touch with us and we can help!

How long a tyre shine lasts is dependent on two different factors. The first being obvious, which is just the product itself - and the second being how clean and well prepared the tyre is. Some products are more concentrated than others, and tend to last longer on tyres - others are a simple spray type application and don’t last as long. Typically, you should get a solid 1-4 weeks out of a tyre dressing, with the ability to get many more months if you use a semi-permanent tyre coating such as CarPro Blackout. But, if the tyres are dirty, and have lots of contamination on them, your tyre shine isn’t going to bond well to the rubber, and it’s not going to last long. It’s definitely recommended that you give the tyres a good, thorough clean with a suitable tyre cleaner and use a tyre brush to ensure you get the most out of your tyre dressing.

Tyre shine can be removed by using a few different products. Most commonly, especially when people are ensuring the tyres are clean, and remnants of an old tyre dressing is gone - we use tyre cleaners and tyre brushes to chemically break down a dressing, and also physically brush it off. You can also use chemicals such as an all-purpose cleaner, but we still recommend using a tyre brush to ensure the product is removed.
