Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information when you shop with Waxit.
01
What we collect
When you buy something from our store, we collect the personal information you give us as part of the buying and selling process, such as your name, address and email address.
When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer's internet protocol (IP) address. This helps us learn about your browser and operating system.
Email marketing: with your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.
02
Consent
How do you get my consent? When you give us personal information to complete a transaction, verify your card, place an order, arrange a delivery or return a purchase, you consent to us collecting and using it for that reason only.
If we ask for your personal information for another reason, like marketing, we'll either ask you directly or give you the chance to say no.
How do I withdraw my consent? If you change your mind after opting in, you can withdraw your consent for us to contact you, or to keep collecting, using or sharing your information, at any time. Email info@waxit.com.au or write to us at Waxit Car Care, 71 Logistics Street, Keilor Park VIC 3042.
03
Disclosure
We may disclose your personal information if we're required to by law, or if you breach our Terms of Service.
04
Shopify and payments
Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide the online e-commerce platform that lets us sell our products to you. Your data is stored through Shopify's data storage, databases and the general Shopify application, on a secure server behind a firewall.
Payment: if you pay through a direct payment gateway, Shopify stores your card data. It's encrypted to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your transaction data is kept only as long as needed to complete your purchase, then deleted.
All direct payment gateways follow the PCI-DSS standards managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. These rules help make sure card information is handled securely by our store and its service providers.
05
Third-party services
In general, the third-party providers we use will only collect, use and disclose your information as far as needed to provide their services to us.
Some providers, such as payment gateways and other payment processors, have their own privacy policies for the information we need to give them for your purchase. We recommend reading their policies so you understand how they handle your personal information.
Some providers may be based in, or have facilities in, a different country to you or us. If you go ahead with a transaction that uses one of these providers, your information may become subject to the laws of that country.
Once you leave our store's website, or are sent to a third-party website or app, this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service no longer apply.
Links: links on our store may take you to other sites. We're not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.
06
Security
To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it isn't lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, changed or destroyed.
If you give us your credit card information, it's encrypted using secure socket layer (SSL) technology and stored with AES-256 encryption. No method of sending data over the internet or storing it electronically is 100% secure, but we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and other accepted industry standards.
