Car Detailing Bags

4.8from 20 reviews across this range

A car detailing bag is the mobile version of the trolley, one bag with the sprayers standing up, the pads and cloths in their own pockets, and room for a polisher in the middle, so you carry the whole job to the car in one trip and nothing rolls around the boot. The good ones have a rigid base that stands open, a wipe-down lining for the inevitable spill, and pockets sized for 1L bottles rather than generic tool bag slots.

FAQ's: Detailing Bags

What makes a bag a detailing bag, and how to pack one. These are the questions we get asked the most.

Still unsure? Ask us ›
What should I look for in a detailing bag?
Three things. Bottle pockets that hold a 1L sprayer upright, because a bag where bottles fall over is a bag full of leaked product. A base that keeps its shape when it's empty so you can load it one-handed, which usually means a semi rigid floor and a wide top opening. And a lining you can wipe out, because at some point a wheel cleaner or an iron remover will end up in the bottom. Beyond that it's size. A 20 inch bag carries a full exterior kit and a polisher, a smaller one suits a maintenance wash kit or an interior job.

Padding matters if the polisher travels in it. Otherwise a lighter bag is easier to carry up a driveway.
How should I pack a detailing bag?
By stage, so you're not digging. Wash and decontamination products along one side, protection along the other, cloths in the top pockets where they stay clean, and the polisher and pads in the centre well. Keep the chemicals that don't mix apart, acidic wheel cleaner away from anything you'll use on paint. Cap everything twice and put anything that's ever leaked in a zip bag.

If you're mobile, a bag per job type is worth it. One packed for a maintenance wash, one for a full detail, so the right kit is always ready to go and you're not repacking in a customer's driveway. Pair it with a trolley back at base and the bag just lifts on and off.
