Snow cannons, foam guns, foam lances, etc. are all interchangeable words in this context - they all refer to a device which attaches to your pressure washer and mixes car wash shampoo with high-pressure water to create a thick ‘snow foam’. You can even get car foam guns that attach to your hose or air compressor - or simple ones you can pump up and spray manually! These foam guns and snow cannons are then filled with different types of snow foam car wash solutions. Some are just for cleaning, while others add a layer of protection while you wash. In most cases, the same shampoo you use in the wash bucket will work equally well in a foam cannon, while in other cases a brand will have dedicated products for each purpose. Make sure to check so you aren’t disappointed the first time you fire up the foam gun!
A snow foam cannon will work with any pressure washer, with any PSI. The only real difference is that the higher PSI you have, usually correlates with thicker & more effective foam. We usually recommend a PSI of around 2000 for your snow foam gun, but anything between 1000 - 4000 will work, just maybe not as good on the lower end of this.
This depends on your pressure washer gun. A lot of pressure washer manufacturers have guns & lances with an “easy lock” mechanism, meaning you need to have their specific adapter on the end of your foam cannon, so it will fit into the gun itself. Some have a quick connect feature, or you may have upgraded to a popular pressure washer short gun - either way, we also have quick connect fittings available. Most standard car washes will work fine in a foam gun. There are a select few which don’t focus on being very viscous, and aren’t really suitable for a foaming car wash, but these aren’t very common. As stated before, it’s always best to check in the product's directions & specifications if they are suitable to be used in a snow foam cannon, and what the specific dilution ratios are.
