Rupes Bigfoot Blue Coarse Microfibre Cutting Pad

When you need maximum cut without jumping to rotary - this is the microfiber cutting pad to reach for.

The Rupes BigFoot Blue Coarse Microfibre Cutting Pad is all about controlled aggression. Built specifically for dual-action polishers, it delivers serious defect removal on hard paint while managing heat like no other microfiber pad on the market.

Where traditional microfiber pads struggle with durability and heat management, Rupes stepped in with a clever single-piece moulded design and vented airflow system. This reduces pad breakdown and keeps surface temps in check, so you can polish harder, longer - without cooking your paint or your pad.

It’s aggressive enough to chew through 1200–1500 grit sanding marks, yet still finishes impressively well on medium to hard clear coats when paired with a balanced compound like Zephir Gloss Coarse. Whether you’re restoring hammered paint or just want a safer alternative to rotary, this pad gives you serious bite and pro-grade consistency.

Features

  • Extreme Cutting Power: Levels heavy defects and sanding marks on harder paint systems.
  • Cooler Running Design: Patented vented airflow system keeps pad temps lower than traditional microfiber options.
  • Single Piece Construction: No glue seams to fail, meaning better durability under heavy correction.
  • DA Optimised: Designed specifically for use with BigFoot dual-action polishers - from the LHR75 to the 21ES.

    Great results . . . .but

This pad offers seriously aggressive compounding with an extremely high level of finish, however it has limitations. On flat horizontal surfaces like bonnets, boots and roof panels the hookit system of attachment copes ok because the machine (in my case the Rupes Miele) has a proper grip on it. However start to drift off onto vertical panels like guards and doors and and the velcro type system fails poorly. I would suspect if you use a standard rotary it might not be a problem, but the massive torque of the Miele is in no way a perfect match for this pad.
