Advanced Paint Correction 202

Take your paint correction skills beyond the basics, and learn how to properly refine, cut, inspect and finish paint like a professional detailer.

Advanced Paint Correction 202 is designed for detailers and enthusiasts who want to move beyond basic polishing and start properly understanding the art of paint correction. This isn’t just about removing swirls, it’s about learning how to assess paint systems, choose the right pad and compound combinations, refine your technique with a car polisher, and consistently chase high-end results safely and efficiently. Whether you’re looking to improve your own vehicles or sharpen your professional detailing skills, this course gives you practical, hands-on experience using professional-grade buffing machines, lighting and correction methods.

Throughout the day, we dive into the finer details that genuinely separate average polishing from proper correction work. You’ll learn how to inspect paint properly, measure paint depth, work around intricate areas safely, improve finishing quality and understand why certain combinations work better on different paint systems. We also cover common mistakes we see all the time, like overworking sections, poor pad selection or relying too heavily on aggressive compounds, helping you build a much safer and more repeatable correction process moving forward.

The Purpose of the Class:

Advanced Paint Correction 202 is designed to bridge the gap between basic machine polishing and genuinely understanding professional-level paint correction. The goal of the course is to help students build confidence with a car polisher and develop a safer, more consistent correction process, not just chase quick results. We focus heavily on technique, paint assessment, product and pad selection, and understanding how different paint systems react during correction, so students leave with practical skills they can actually apply in the real world.

Our Teaching Objective:

Our objective is to simplify paint correction without watering it down. We want students to properly understand the “why” behind the process, why certain pads cut harder, why finishing can become difficult on softer paints, why lighting and paint inspection matter so much, and how to approach correction work methodically instead of guessing. By the end of the course, students should feel significantly more comfortable using a buffing machine, refining paint safely, troubleshooting common polishing issues and achieving higher quality correction results with more consistency.

Program Delivery:

This is a hands-on, small group training course designed to maximise learning time and individual support. With class sizes capped at just 5 students, there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions, work directly with different machines, pads and compounds, and receive guidance throughout the day. The course combines theory, live demonstrations and practical correction work to help students properly understand both the technical side of paint correction and the physical techniques required to achieve professional-level results.

        Amazing Experience!

I had been wanting to take part in this class for a long time. While I have been polishing cars for more than 10 years, up until the class I had been self-taught, so I wanted to see where I could improve and further hone my skills. For me, the class helped me refine some aspects of my technique, but it also helped confirm a lot of what I had been doing previously. I loved the small class size, so everyone got plenty of one-on-one with Sandro, and it was great to talk about detailing and cars with like-minded people. It was also a sincere pleasure to meet Sandro in person, he is every bit the gentleman, kind, gentle and incredibly talented. He is also a natural born teacher, so combined with his skill and experience, you can't not learn from him. Overall, if you have the chance to take part in this or other classes offered by Waxit, I can 100% recommend it.

        Sandro Masterclass

Sandro runs the classes in a very methodical and easy-to-follow manner, while also covering a lot of topics which is a hard balance to strike. The access to a variety of tools, pads and products from Waxit was great to try new combinations, accompanied with practising new techniques guided by Sandro. I learned a lot from the class and definitely improved my attention to detail and eye for different defects, and my confidence in paint correction. Look forward to doing more classes in the future - Thanks Sandro

        Incredible

Coming from a family of teachers, I'm confident in my ability to meet and critique those who are put in positions of leadership in education. To put it simply, a good teacher isn't just someone who knows a lot about the subject and can read it out of a textbook or off of a white board, but one who can correctly communicate and pass on that knowledge to anyone, whether its day 1 of someone walking in the door or the most educated and advanced people leading in their industry. Sandro has a natural ability to educate anyone on either side of the spectrum in a clear and calm manner and is truly something I aspire too. I simply can't wait to fly back into the state and learn more from him!

        One of the best classes

One of the best classes offered, was a great chance to learn in detail about various compounds and pad styles and to actually put the theory in to practice on a vehicle. A very valuable experience for those looking to take their skills to another level.

        Highly recommended.

Great course at demystifying the process of paint correction using motorized tools. Goes in-depth in the techniques, setup, preparation, application and theory behind the process. Definitely gives you a solid foundation to go out and correct cars on your own. Sandro is a great teacher.
