The Waxit Paint Prep Kit is designed to give you the cleanest, most contamination-free surface possible before applying any ceramic coating, wax, or sealant. Each product plays a specific role in the preparation process and contributes to a complete system that removes embedded contamination, mineral deposits, polishing oils and more. Done properly, this kind of car paint prep ensures your protection bonds better, performs properly, and lasts much longer.
You start with CARPRO Descale, an acidic car shampoo formulated to remove built-up minerals, water spotting and grime that regular pH-neutral soaps can’t touch. This step softens the surface, clears out hard-to-see residues, and gives you a cleaner base to start decontaminating. It’s especially useful on coated or previously detailed cars, where normal shampoos won’t strip away the buildup that dulls performance.
Next comes Nv PURIFY, a high-lubricity clay lubricant with built-in chemical cleaning agents. This isn’t just a glide aid. It helps break down light iron, grime, and waxes on contact. Paired with the Economax Clay Mitt, it gives you the mechanical side of decontamination, removing bonded fallout, overspray, and rough surface particles without excessive friction or marring. These two products are designed to work in tandem. PURIFY softens and loosens the contamination, and the clay mitt safely lifts it away.
Once your surface is clean and smooth, the final step is CARPRO Eraser, a trusted car surface prep spray that removes polishing oils, fillers, or residues left behind by previous detailing steps. Aquatouch Sample Pack Microfiber Cloths
- The Aquatouch GENERAL 300GSM is our signature general purpose microfiber cloth, a purpose-built terry weave tuned for balance and everyday detailing performance. It’s light enough to move quickly, dense enough to hold product, and soft enough to stay safe on sensitive surfaces.
- The Aquatouch ACE 320GSM is our precision general purpose microfiber cloth. It uses a pearl weave structure that creates a tighter, more uniform surface for levelling and streak-free wiping. We love it for coating removal, but it also works fantastically for removing a variety of waxes, sealants, ceramic coatings and quick detailers, and for interior cleaning.
- The Aquatouch VERSO builds on the balance of the GENERAL with a design focused on versatility and feel. Its dual-sided design is what really provides the true versatility, giving the VERSO its name. The short pile side handles removal work (e.g. coatings), residue, and interior cleaning, while the high pile excels at final wipes and gentle drying.
Directions
- Work in the shade on a cool surface out of direct sunlight.
- Wash your vehicle using CARPRO Descale diluted at 1:100 in a bucket or 1:10 in a foam cannon.
- Leave the car wet and begin decontamination. Spray Nv PURIFY onto one panel at a time and allow to dwell for 30–45 seconds.
- Gently glide the Economax Clay Mitt across the panel using straight passes. Reapply PURIFY if the mitt feels grabby.
- After claying is complete, give the car another wash with Descale to remove residue.
- Dry the vehicle thoroughly with clean microfibers.
- Finish by wiping down each panel with CARPRO Eraser to remove polishing oils and residue before applying protection.

How often should I use this paint prep kit?
For most vehicles, a full prep using this kit is only needed a few times a year. Typically when you're applying new protection or doing a full detail reset. If you're someone who frequently reapplies coatings, or your vehicle sees harsh conditions, you might use it more often.
That said, it’s not something you need to use monthly. Between full prep cycles, you can maintain your surface with maintenance washes and light decontamination when needed. The key is to use the kit whenever you’re planning to apply fresh protection, so your product has the best possible surface to bond to.
