CARPRO Descale is an acidic car shampoo designed to remove built-up minerals, water spots, and grime, restoring the gloss and hydrophobic performance of ceramic coatings.
Over time, minerals and contaminants bond to the surface of your paint and ceramic coating. This build-up reduces slickness, dulls gloss, and weakens hydrophobic behaviour. Descale was developed by CARPRO as a specialist car wash liquid to target this exact issue.
Unlike a pH neutral car wash, Descale uses an acidic formula that breaks down minerals, salts, and stubborn grime that normal shampoos can’t remove. This makes it ideal for rejuvenating ceramic coatings such as CQUARTZ UK or SiC, bringing back sharp water beading and a smooth surface. It’s also versatile enough to strip away old waxes, sealants, or spray coatings when preparing for a fresh layer of protection.
While Descale is fantastic for periodic deep cleaning, it isn’t a regular maintenance car shampoo. Because it will strip weaker protection, it should be reserved for coating maintenance, decontamination, or prep work before detailing. Used correctly, it dramatically improves the look, feel, and performance of coatings.

Dilution
Bucket Wash:
- Dilute 1:100 (approx. 50 mL in 10 L of water).
- Wash panel by panel, starting with horizontal surfaces.
- Allow to dwell briefly, then rinse thoroughly.
Foam Cannon / Sprayer:
- Dilute at 1:10.
- Apply evenly and allow maximum dwell without drying.
- Rinse thoroughly, then follow with a contact wash if needed.
Usage Notes:
- For light contamination: Use as a snow foam, allow dwell, then rinse before hand washing.
- For heavier contamination: Wash directly with Descale panel by panel, repeating if necessary.
