CARPRO CQUARTZ UK is one of our favourite ceramic coatings. Not only does it boast exceptional, professional level results, itβs easy to use and seems to be absolutely perfect for our diverse Australian climate. Made with an incredibly high concentration of SiO2 (70%), this product truly embraces the history of CQUARTZ coatings, featuring the latest & greatest CARPRO coating technology, and bringing that for everyone to use. When applied, CARPRO CQUARTZ UK instils the ultimate level of protection over the vehicle. This protective layer not only has the capabilities to resist a variety of chemicals, UV & contaminants - but also provides some level of physical protection, mitigating light swirls and scratches that may be produced during maintenance washing or light physical abrasion. This layer also illustrates insane levels of hydrophobicity, making water bead ridiculously off the surface (110 degree water drop angle). Not only will your car be cleaner for longer, its super slick surface makes it hard for dirt, grime & other contaminants from adhering to your surface. You are left with a vehicle that not only struggles to get dirty, but is so much easier to wash, as the dirt, grime & film you are removing is not stuck to the surface - and comes right off. New or old, if you have a car you are wanting to transform & protect, then enter the new generation of car care with CARPRO CQUARTZ UK.

When applying a ceramic coating like CARPRO CQUARTZ UK you must make sure the paintwork is properly decontaminated. This may involve utilising iron removers to chemically break down contamination, and/or using a clay bar with a suitable lubricant to mechanically abrade contaminants. You can learn all about the types of vehicle contamination, along with how to remove them in our detailing guide here. Vehicle Decontamination Blog
- Wash your car with any suitable car wash *(avoid using any βwash & coatβ style product, that has protection infused in the wash for maintenance)*
- Perform a decontamination process with suitable products such as iron removers, clay bars & lubricants.
- It's then a good idea to give the car a quick wash after decontamination to ensure any oils or residue leftover is removed.
- Once all clean and decontaminated, you may want to perform some machine polishing to ensure any scratches, swirls and marring have been removed, and you can unlock even more clarity in the paintwork. As we are going to be locking in this finish for years to come, it can greatly increase the level of your finish by performing some machine polishing. If you want to learn how to cut and polish your car, check out our detailing guide here, or simply browse some of our ready to go car polisher kits such as the Waxit Enthusiast Polishing Kit.
- Once the car is all ready to go, give the car a quick wipe down with a suitable prep spray such as CARPRO Eraser before we coat.
- We can begin our application steps of applying C.QUARTZ UK. Start by mapping out a 60cm x 60cm area, and apply 4-6 drops of product along the suede cloth wrapped around the applicator block.
- Apply the product in vertical motions throughout the area, and then overlap again with horizontal passes to provide full application coverage.
- When applied, you will see the coating start to flash almost immediately, creating a βrainbow effectβ as the solvents begin to evaporate.
- Wait approximately 3-5 minutes, and then level the coating and remove any residue.
- If your wipe off feels super slick and oily, then youβve wiped off too quick - if your wipe off feels grabby and a bit difficult to level then you have probably waited a bit too long. You want to feel a touch of grip when removing, thatβs the sweet spot.
- Donβt stress out too much however, what makes C.QUARTZ UK so great is its very forgiving to apply. Wiping off anytime between really 1-10 minutes can provide great results, but getting the sweet spot can give you a bit better performance.
- Once completed, start moving on and replicating all over the rest of the car!
- After the first coat is done, you can apply another layer of C.QUARTZ UK. This can help improve performance, but anything more than 2 coatings we feel isnβt necessary, and gives diminishing returns.
- To apply another layer, wait approximately 1.5 - 3 hours (if itβs hotter, stick closer to 1.5, colder more to 3 hours). Apply the same way.

One of the most important things for ceramic coatings is maintenance. Unfortunately a lot of people tend to think of ceramic coatings are a set and forget type option, and sadly a lot of companies have marketed their products this way. This is simply not true, and to get the most out of your coating, and for it to even exceed your expectations you need to maintain it properly. Although your ceramic coating will repel dirt, grime, minerals, oils, stains, droppings, water spots and a variety of other contaminants - it is not immune to them. If you leave things like this baking in the sun, and/or leaving them on the surface for weeks, if not months, then they will most likely degrade itβs performance, and can etch into the coating. Ceramic coatings are here to enhance your clearcoat, making it tougher, stronger, glossier & easier to maintain. Regular washing (every couple of weeks or so), periodic maintenance with more powerful/decontamination washes such as CarPro Descale or CARPRO IronX Snow Soup (every 6 months or so), and topping up the coating with spray coatings such as CarPro Reload 2.0, NV Boost V2 or Nv JET 250mL (every month or so) are all ways to ensure your coating is performing its best. Following best practices when washing such as utilising the two bucket wash method, - good quality microfiber

CARPRO CQUARTZ UK can be used on a number of different automotive exterior surfaces.
- Paintwork
- Plastics - Although CARPRO CQUARTZ LUX Kit might be the better option here, Cquartz UK can still work effectively on these surfaces, but is not suitable for rubbers.
- Metals - Can be used on wheels/exhausts but a dedicated wheel coating such as CARPRO CQUARTZ DLUX Kit or Nv Wheel has higher temperature resistance, and will result in a much better durability.
- Glass - Although not particularly recommended, CQUARTZ UK can be used on glass, but not the windscreen, as it was not made to withstand wiper gripping/abrasion. As mentioned early, coverage of the coating depends on the size of the vehicle. For something like a hatch or small sedan, 10-15mL will be sufficient for each later, so a 30mL kit will be ideal. For a larger sedan, 4x4, van, etc. then you might start to look at 15-20mL per layer, which may mean the 50mL is more suitable.
