We’ve been dealing with CARPRO for over 10 years. They are widely regarded as one of the leaders in modern car care chemistry, known for developing products that continuously push the industry forward. That same philosophy carries through into our CARPRO Wheel Care Kit - a proper, step-by-step system for cleaning & resetting your wheels + dressing tyres with a rich, satin finish.

The dedicated wheel cleaner, CARPRO WheelX, handles the heavy lifting. Its reactive formula targets brake dust and iron contamination, breaking it down so it can be safely rinsed away with minimal agitation. This makes it ideal for deeper cleans especially on wheels that see frequent brake dust buildup. It also helps remove dirt, grime, oils & other contamination - giving your wheels a proper deep clean.

Next, your tyres are reset properly using CARPRO ReTyre, a dedicated tyre cleaner designed to strip old dressings, road grime, and tyre browning from the rubber. This step is key if you want consistent results and proper bonding from your tyre dressing - not just a surface-level clean. It deeply penetrates the rubber, and you’ll see the tyre browning straight away. One of our favourites for sure, and a cleaning process that’s often overlooked.

Once clean & dry, CARPRO DarkSide finishes the tyres with a durable, rich finish that can be tailored to your preference. Apply lightly for a clean satin look, or layer it for more depth and gloss, without the greasy feel or sling you get from cheaper dressings. A fan favourite, DarkSide is sure to impress with its incredible look - but the best part is that its going to last months, not weeks….

And finally the kit is rounded out with CARPRO's DarkSide Brush, FlatSpot Wheel Brush Kit & the Aquatouch SCRUBBA giving you the right tools to get your wheels & tyres looking fantastic. These products work perfectly to compliment the popular CARPRO chemicals, and ensures you have a full, specialised, pro-grade wheel care kit that is simple, easy but seriously effective.

Directions:
1. Clean the Wheels
  On cool, dry wheels, spray CARPRO WheelX evenly over the wheel face and barrel. Let it dwell for a couple of minutes while it breaks down brake dust and iron contamination. If needed, agitate with the FlatSpot Wheel Brushes, then rinse thoroughly. Do not allow the product to dry.
2. Clean the Tyres
  Spray CARPRO ReTyre directly onto the tyres. Allow a short dwell (you will see the visual tyre browning if they are dirty) then scrub using the SCRUBBA to remove old dressings, grime, and tyre browning. Rinse well until the runoff is clean.
3. Dry the Tyres
  Make sure the tyres are fully clean and dry before dressing. A quick towel dry or short air dry is usually enough.
4. Dress The Tyres
  Apply CARPRO DarkSide with the CARPRO DarkSide Brush, and spread evenly over the sidewall. Apply a thin layer for a clean satin look, or add another layer if you want a darker, glossier finish. Allow the product to cure before driving.
Precautions & Notes:
- Use on cool surfaces and out of direct sunlight.
- Do not allow products to dry on the surface.
- Avoid use on raw metals and sensitive finishes.
- Rinse brushes thoroughly after use and allow them to dry.
- Allow DarkSide to fully cure to minimise sling.
- Clean, simple, and easy to follow - without turning it into a chemistry lesson.

Yes, when used correctly. CARPRO WheelX is safe to use on properly ceramic coated wheels, as long as you work on cool surfaces, don’t allow it to dry, and rinse thoroughly. Coated wheels typically don’t hold heavy contamination, so light agitation (or none at all) is usually enough.
If your wheels aren’t ceramic coated, a simple spray-on protection works really well. We like using CARPRO HydrO2 or CARPRO HydroLite quickly after wheel cleaning which can help repel brake dust and grime, making future cleaning much easier.

If you want a more permanent solution, CARPRO DLUX is a dedicated wheel and trim ceramic coating that offers longer-lasting protection, check it out for sure.

No, just as you see fit. CARPRO WheelX will be your go to when the wheels are dirty, but might not be needed every wash, sometimes a mitt with your standard wash is fine.

CARPRO ReTyre is something that you will use more periodically, usually before you are using Darkside. I usually look to re-apply DarkSide and give the tyres a good go over after a month or so.
DarkSide is designed to be durable for a tyre dressing. Longevity depends on driving conditions, weather, and how often the car is washed, but you can expect it to last a month or two under normal use.

Proper tyre cleaning with ReTyre beforehand makes a big difference - a clean tyre allows DarkSide to bond better and last longer. If you just slap it on over a dirty wheel, then weeks will be the realistic outcome.

Good kit
Lots to review here.
First off, I've never used a dedicated tire cleaner. And carpro retire is insanely good. I try to use it sparingly, but somehow I've used most of the bottle on only a couple of cars. It doesn't go as far as I wish it did.
I don't think I really like that economax wheel brush. The bristles are very stiff, and I so I don't feel comfortable scrubbing the tyres when I could scratch the rim. I just don't use this brush. Also, the first time I tried to use it, the rubber handle tries to slip off the brush.
The NV Purge is another awesome NV product. It works really well, but it also feels very safe. My biggest gripe with all the NV spray products, is the spray bottle nozzles leak. I have lost half the product in the bottle from the nozzle dripping out. Be very careful where you store this product if you are prone to forgetting to lock up the nozzle.
Carpro darkside smells very nice, like coconut and vanilla. You nearly want to wear it. It has a nice finish, couldn't get it applied as think as I'd have liked. I really had to rub the excess back off with an old cloth. I live on a dirt road and I found that this product does attract dirt, but it rinses off with the gurney quite easily. I've had cheap spray on tire shines that have stained my tyres brown, and I don't think this will do that.
The tyre dressing applicator is okay. It might be nicer for general road tires. But I do predominantly 4wds drives, and this just does not work around the knobs. I ended up…
