Koch Chemie (GSF) Gentle Snow Foam | pH Neutral Cleaning Foam

Koch Chemie Gentle Snow Foam (GSF) is a pH neutral, high-foaming car wash soap that delivers safe, effective cleaning as both a pre-wash foam and a hand wash shampoo.

GSF by Koch Chemie has earned its reputation as one of the best car wash shampoos in the detailing world thanks to its rich foam and safe chemistry. With a pH of 7.5, it provides the cleaning power you need without compromising waxes, sealants, or ceramic coatings. Whether run through a foam cannon as a thick pre-wash blanket or used in a wash bucket, it’s versatile enough to fit seamlessly into any wash routine.

As a snow foam, GSF clings to the paint, softening dirt, road film, and other surface contamination to make the contact wash safer and reduce the risk of marring. Its lubricating formula also works perfectly as a traditional car wash detergent, leaving behind a clean, streak-free finish. For even more bite, GSF can be enriched with Koch Chemie Green Star to create an active foam that tackles heavier grime and insect remains.

Finished with a fresh cherry fragrance, Gentle Snow Foam turns a simple wash into a satisfying detail, making it a go-to choice for both enthusiasts and professionals.

Effective, safe foam for regular use

I’ve used this stuff a few times now and it’s been performing well. The foam is nice and thick through a proper foam cannon (I use MJJC Foam Cannon Pro V2), and it clings to the car long enough to loosen up light dirt before a contact wash.

It’s pH-neutral, so I’m comfortable using it on cars with waxes or sealants because it doesn’t strip anything. Also it rinses off clean with no weird residue or film, leaving it silky smooth (which is important before a contact wash).

It’s not the most aggressive cleaner, but that’s expected for something designed to be safe. Works great as a pre-wash or even in a two-bucket wash, although I prefer a designated shampoo when doing a two-bucket wash.
