Flats Vs Diamonds
Flat pads - More foam touching the paint, so they cut faster and correct defects quicker. Great when you're chasing efficiency and maximum correction.
Black Diamond pads - the diamond-pattern face creates channels that reduce heat, lower vibration, and help the pad maintain its shape during longer polishing sessions. They feel smoother and more controlled.

Have tried this foam pad on hard clear coats using Concourse Precision as microfiber is not recommended with Precision. I honestly just do not achieve the desired cut with these pads on hard surfaces. Have done up to five sets of passes with no success using these pads. Clear coat needs to be mid range to have a chance with these. They are good value and appear good quality but I just haven’t found a successful combo with this pad. Have tried Clearcut which works better with microfiber.
