A 70% SiO2 ceramic coating that's easy to apply and built to last.
CQUARTZ UK 3.0 is one of our best-selling coatings, and it's easy to see why. It lays down a hard, slick glass layer 1 to 2 microns thick that gives your paint deep gloss, tight beading and 2+ years of protection with the right care.
That's the big advantage of a ceramic coating. Instead of sitting on top of your paint, it bonds to it, so it stands up to UV and harsh chemicals and won't strip off with your weekly wash. It'll comfortably outlast your average car wax or sealant.
The 110° water contact angle is what you'll notice first. Water beads up tight and rolls off, taking dirt with it, so the car stays cleaner between washes and dries faster. That extra layer on top of your clear coat also helps resist light marring from washing.
Where UK really stands out is the application. It flashes quickly, isn't sticky, and you can wipe it off anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes after applying. That window is pretty forgiving, which makes it a great first coating and quick work for detailers. It still performs in the heat, but if you want a slower cure with more working time on hot days, CQUARTZ SiC is better suited.
The 30mL ceramic coating kit suits a hatch or small sedan, and the 50mL kit covers larger sedans, 4x4s and vans. Both come with applicators, a levelling towel and a 100mL bottle of CARPRO Reload 2.0 to top it up. Coating more than one car? The 100mL bottle includes the applicators but skips the Reload. Directions
Prep
- Wash with a pH neutral car shampoo. Avoid wash and coat products.
- Decontaminate with an iron remover. If the paint still feels rough, use a clay bar with lubricant.
- Give it a quick re-wash to remove any residue.
- Polish out any swirls or marring you don't want locked in. See our car polisher kits such as the Waxit Enthusiast Polishing Kit.
- Wipe every panel with a panel prep spray such as CARPRO Eraser.
Apply
- Work in 60 x 60cm sections. Put 4 to 6 drops on the suede cloth wrapped around the applicator block.
- Apply in vertical passes, then go over it again in horizontal passes.
- Watch for a rainbow effect as it flashes. That's the solvents evaporating.
- After 1 to 2 minutes, level and buff off the residue. Slick and oily means too early, grabby means too late. Don't stress, anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes works.
- Repeat over the rest of the car.
- For a second coat, wait 1.5 to 3 hours (shorter in heat, longer in cold). More than two coats gives diminishing returns.
- Keep it dry for 24 hours. Full cure takes 24 to 48 hours.

Maintenance
A ceramic coating isn't set and forget. It repels dirt, grime, minerals, oils and water spots, but it isn't immune to them. Leave contamination baking on for weeks and it will wear the coating down and can etch into it.
- Wash every couple of weeks with a pH neutral shampoo and the two-bucket method.
- Every 6 months or so, give it a decontamination wash with CARPRO Descale or CARPRO IronX SnowSoap.
- Every month or so, top it up with a spray coating such as Reload 2.0, Nv Boost V2 or Nv Jet.
Coverage & Surfaces
Hatch or small sedan: 10 to 15mL per coat, so the 30mL kit is ideal. Large sedan, 4x4 or van: 15 to 20mL per coat, so the 50mL kit suits better.
- Paintwork: this is what it's made for.
- Plastics: works, though CQUARTZ DLUX is the better choice. Not for rubber.
- Wheels and exhausts: works, but DLUX or Nv Wheel handle heat better and last longer.
- Glass: side and rear windows only. Not the windscreen, as it isn't built for wiper abrasion.

Is CQUARTZ UK 3.0 right for my car?
If you want a proper ceramic coating on your paint and haven't coated a car before, this is a great place to start. It works on new or older paint, as long as you prep it properly first. For wheels and plastics, CQUARTZ DLUX is the better fit, and for PPF or vinyl wrap, go with CQUARTZ SKIN.
Should I get CQUARTZ UK 3.0 or CQUARTZ SiC?
Both give you serious gloss and long-term protection. UK flashes faster and has that forgiving 1 to 5 minute wipe-off window, so it suits most people. SiC cures slower, which gives you more working time in hot weather or on bigger vehicles. If you're unsure, UK is the easier one to get right.
Can I apply it over wax or sealant?
No. A coating needs to bond to bare paint, so any wax, sealant or polishing oil has to come off first. After washing and decontaminating, wipe every panel with CARPRO Eraser right before you coat. It strips the oils and leaves a clean surface for the coating to grab onto.
Do I need to polish my car before coating?
You don't have to, but it's worth it. A coating locks in whatever finish is underneath for years, swirls included. If your paint has marks you want gone, polish first. If it's already in good shape, a thorough wash, decontamination and Eraser wipe-down is enough.

I thought I’d try cquartz uk 3.0 to coat a vw van, I ordered the 50ml kit I applied 2 coats and had plenty. The reload is also a nice touch to apply after coating to help it cure. It’s such a pleasure to install and is very forgiving if you’re new to coatings. Would highly recommend.
